KLERQ Knowledge Base

Step-by-step guides to every part of KLERQ — from setting up your firm to submitting to the directories.

KLERQ is one record of what your firm has done, used twice over: to pitch for work, and to submit to the legal directories. Almost everything else follows from that, which is why the setup order matters more than it looks.

  1. Describe your firm. Practices and industries are how work is categorised, so they come first — everything recorded later is tagged against them.
  2. Add your people. An office must exist before a specialist can belong to one. Specialists are who the work is credited to; they are not the same thing as users.
  3. Record the work. Matters are the base of everything, with companies and contacts hanging off them.
  4. Use it. Build a presentation to pitch, or a submission for a directory. Both are assembled from records you already have.

If something you expect to see is missing from a pitch or a submission, the answer is usually approval: bios, descriptions and work highlights stay in draft until someone approves them, and drafts do not appear on client-facing material.

The sections below mirror KLERQ’s own menu, so what you see here is where you will find it in the app.
