About legal directories
What a legal directory is
Section titled “What a legal directory is”A legal directory is a publication that ranks law firms — Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, IFLR1000, Benchmark Litigation. Registering one here makes it selectable when creating a submission.
Why the requirements field earns its keep
Section titled “Why the requirements field earns its keep”Every directory has its own rules: how many referees you may nominate, how long a work highlight can be, what counts as a matter, when the cycle closes. Those rules are learned painfully, usually once per firm, and then forgotten between cycles.
Requirements is where that knowledge should live. It is visible to whoever prepares the submission, which is what stops the same question being asked every year and stops submissions being written to the wrong word limit.
