About events

An event records a conference, client dinner, seminar or directory interview — what it was, who from your firm attended, and which client contacts were there.

Two reasons, and the second is the one people miss.

Coordination. Who is going, who is meeting whom, and what the itinerary is.

Evidence of relationship. Directories ask how well you know a client, and pitches claim long-standing relationships. A record of meeting a client’s general counsel at three consecutive conferences is exactly the sort of thing that is true, useful, and completely unprovable a year later unless it was written down.
