About companies
What a company is
Section titled “What a company is”Companies are the organisations your firm acts for. They are the anchor most other records hang from: matters are done for a company, testimonials come from one, contacts work at one, and presentations are pitched to one.
Despite the name, the list is not only clients. Client type distinguishes actual clients from prospects you are pitching and other law firms you work alongside.
Why companies matter
Section titled “Why companies matter”A company record is what turns scattered work into a relationship you can describe. Once it exists, its page answers the questions that come up before every pitch and every submission: what have we done for them, who knows them, what have they said about us, when did it start?
That last one carries real weight. Directories treat relationship length as evidence of quality, and Start date is the field that proves it.
